What says 'romantic movie wedding' than saying 'I do' at the Battersea Park bandstand?
Belinda and Andrew organised the perfect, laid back day for their guests, many who had travelled over from Oz to celebrate with them. I started with Belinda at her home with her bridesmaids and rocked up just as the makeup artist was putting the final touches on everyone (the perfect time for me to capture the essence of bridal prep but not get in anyone's way!). It gave us enough time to capture Belinda doing the dishes with her mum in her bridal pj's (tidiest bride ever) and get those glam getting ready shots.
My wonderful second shooter, Amy, caught up with the boys having a pre-match beer in the park and connecting with all their guests before they started.
After a few family pics in the garden, Belinda and her girls jumped in an Uber and we all rocked up to the park. After an unfortunate incident where we realise we'd stolen (by accident!!) the Uber driver's gym bag instead of the beers from the back of the car we were back on track and ready to get them wed!
It was a beautiful ceremony with wonderful personalised vows surrounded by the greenery of London and accompanied by the love of family and friends.
After the ceremony there was confetti and an eski (cool bag for my British readers) with beers and seltzers which the wedding party jumped into and took with them for some fun shots in the park altogether. You can see the energy and the joy throughout the pictures.
The rest of the guests headed to the pump house for a drinks reception whilst we did some photos (and watched a neighbouring game of cricket!) Then everyone headed to the Prince Albert pup for more drinks, dinner and some speeches.
Speeches are my favourite thing to photograph. It's where you really get the candid reactions from tears, laughter, the odd cringe and the whole room fills up with so much love and warmth it is the best atmosphere. These are some of my favourite ever photographs with the wonderful humans in the pics helped by the dreamy natural light of the private dining room in the Prince Albert.
From there it was full on party mode - a playlist to die for and the chaos that only a dog on the dancefloor can provide.
I have loved being part of Belinda and Andrew's big day. From their Borough market engagement shoot - you can see it here, to their big day, I have loved every minute of it.
Have a look through the photos, sit back with a glass of wine and just enjoy. And if you fancy sharing your wedding plans with me then you can connect with me on instagram @beckywoodweddings.
