St Albans Micro Wedding Photography with Danny & Leire at The Hub on Verulam, Hertfordshire.

It was an absolute joy to be the wedding photographer for Danny and Leire’s beautiful micro-wedding. We started off at St Albans Registry Office for a very emotional, intimate wedding ceremony. The tissues were being passed around to family members before Leire even made it into the room! It’s those truly candid moments that are so special in weddings. The more happy tears the better, just remember the tissues!

After a couple of wonderful readings from sisters of the bride and the groom it was official, the couple were married!

We popped outside the registry office to take some super quick group shots, before everyone jumped on a canon for a final moment at the end. (For the record, I absolutely did not instigate the canon pics. But it did cause for some hilarious moments).

We then got to walk from the registry office to where the party was to take place at The Hub on Verulam. There was shoe swapping, pokemon flip flops and clapping from passers-by all through St Albans. It was a truly lovely experience full of happiness and celebration both from the wedding party and the town.

We dropped off the family members (the ones that didn’t cheat and grab a quick taxi!) and wondered around the gardens and the front of St Alban’s Cathedral for some beautiful couples portraits. We were only 15 mins before we could go and grab some champagne, to celebrate but the cathedral made an excellent backdrop and the candid, intimate moments were worth every minute.

There was then an outfit change from the bride and groom which prompted a totally unplanned couples session in the courtyard at The Hub. It is a really lovely outdoor space that gave us really dreamy late afternoon light to shoot in.

We also had some cocktail-fuelled group shots on the industrial staircase with all the family members ready to make them unforgettable. This was followed by a wonderful meal, speeches and a cake cut with some epic whisky and napkin spinning galore.

I loved every moment and the love and energy of the whole group. I am very excited to photograph more weddings in St Albans and at The Hub.
