A very rainy wedding day for Pete and Ruth at Bentley Brook Inn, Derbyshire.


It was a very wet, October day when Pete and Ruth got hitched in Derbyshire. You can bury as many sausages you like (not sure what I'm on about? Read here...) but sometimes the weather just won't play ball. As upsetting as that can seem in the moment, there is something romantic about rain on your wedding day. People huddled under umbrellas together, the cosiness inside, a warm fireplace. All that good stuff.


Rainclouds are also the most perfect 'softbox in the sky'. The light after rain is some of the most magical I have ever seen and the soft, diffused light that reflects off of rainclouds makes people glow.


Despite the weather barely letting up, Pete and Ruth had a fabulous day featuring a bbq dinner and an epic dancefloor, the best bridal shoes (homemade from materials sourced on Vinted!) and all round good vibes.
