Energetic, soulful wedding photography at Southwark Registry Office, London for Zoe & Joe.
It is no secret that I love micro weddings. There is nothing quite like the intimacy, the emotions, the tears - everything feels heightened and more special. Just because the wedding is a small one doesn't mean it doesn't pack a punch! At Zoe and Joe's day there was so much energy, love and excitement. Particularly in their portraits. We had a lot of fun playing in the nearby streets of Southwark registry office.
The couple arrived for their ceremony together and hung out in front of the Christmas trees with their beautifully festive themed florals. Here they greeted their families and all got to hang out together before their interviews and their ceremony at the Garden Room in the Southwark registry.
The ceremony was diligently livestreamed to China by a committed family member and the couple said beautifully hand written vows to each other leaving not a dry eye in the house!
WEDDING TIP: Zoe and Joe had their vows written and sealed in beautiful envelopes. The vows were then slipped into printed cards and read from. It's so much more special than reading from a digital device as they can be kept forever and also they photograph much better! I recommend writing your vows onto some sort of paper or card and slipping them inside a printed or just folded piece of card. You can decorate them as you like!
For all of those not crying after the 'I do', Zoe then surprised Joe with a singing performance of 'Natural Woman'. Even the registrar was balling after that!
We then headed out to a very grey London but the weather in this case didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The energy that Zoe and Joe had and their palpable love for each other was such a treat to see. We had movie style lifts, spins and a spontaneous first dance to celebrate their nuptials before I left them to jump in a cab and head to their meal.
Zoe and Joe had booked me for my 1.5 hour package and it was perfect to get them those memories that they will cherish forever and here is what they had to say about choosing me as their photographer:
